   FUNCIÓN BÁSICA

   Gestionar la seguridad  de los espacios acuáticos, mediante operaciones marítimas para vigilancia y control, salvaguarda de la vida            humana en el mar y la seguridad de  la    navegación, así como la protección del ambiente marino costero y fluvial a fin de  contribuir a        la defensa y soberanía del estado.     

 
 
    
   POWERS AND RESPONSABILITIES
  • Manage the guidelines for the security and protection of the aquatic spaces.
  •  Propose reforms to regulations for the safety of the aquatic spaces
  • Propose manual doctrinaire for the safety and protection of the aquatic spaces.
  • Plan and oversee the operations for the safety of the water spaces in the area of its competence.
  •  Manage the System of Maritime Traffic Control.
  •  Contribute in the governance of the aquatic spaces.
  • Advise on technical aspects of maritime and represent to bodies of the State bodies and national and international forums , in the scope of their competence.
  • Oversee the administration and development of the curriculum academic of the School of Education of the Merchant Navy, by reason of the delegation granted by the General Command.
  • To control, guide and keep the Captaincies of Port and Command of the coast Guard.
  • Joint logistics operations for the security operations and protection of the aquatic spaces
  • Coordinate the maintenance and recovery of the units of the captaincies and of the Command Guard.
  • Manage the security and protection of maritime as Port State , Flag State and Coastal State, in the scope of their competence
  • Ensuring the safety of Human life in the aquatic spaces of their responsibility.
  • Exercise the coordination of Search and Rescue at Sea.
  • Manage and control the Maritime Mobile Service.
  • Managing the Integral System of Management of Maritime and Port security (SIGMAP).
  • Coordinate and monitor the efficiency of the signaling maritime and inland national, as well as the aids to navigation.
  • Contribute in the prevention and control of environmental pollution of marine, coastal, river and lake.
  • Contribute in the prevention and control of environmental pollution of marine, coastal, river and lake.
  • Manage the implementation of the recommendations of the research processes of the marine claims
